Mark and Amy Deering are outdoor lovers and mountain biking enthusiasts like you! Mark is well-known in the Michigan mountain biking sphere for his group rides, cycling team (RE/MAX Cycling), and passion for sharing the sport with the next generation. Over the last 12 years, both Mark and Amy have participated in a number of races and local organizations such as WMMBA (West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance) MEMBA (Michigan’s Edge Mountain Biking Association), and Grand Rapids Dirt Dawgs to promote mountain biking in Michigan!
They have been on the frontline of The Dragon Trail construction and have been supporters since day one. Because of their passion for mountain biking, they see The Dragon Trail as a destination spot similar to Brown County, IN, Bentonville, AR, and Brevard, NC. All places they have traveled to and enjoyed immensely! Throughout their travels they have gathered ideas of what they believe makes a biking specific destination thrive and are putting all of those pieces together at Dragon Adventures Base Camp.
One thing each of these places have in common is community, and that is the main thing they want accommodate at Dragon Adventures Base Camp. That is why the centerpiece of the grounds is beautiful community bonfire area, and we have a large parking area for cyclists to gather before hitting the trails. We are looking forward to seeing how people use our facilities, and how it continues to develop into the destination for mountain bikers seeking to explore The Dragon Trail.
